Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Lauren Hornibrook, Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Hi! I’m Lauren, and I’ve been an Occupational Therapist for over a decade, with experience across hospital and community settings. What I value most in this work is truly listening to children and families, noticing what helps a child feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their everyday life.

I believe therapy should meet kids where they are and support them in ways that make sense in real life, helping them feel safe and understood along the way. I enjoy working closely with each child and their family to build practical, meaningful support that fits real life and honours the child’s priorities and strengths.

As a parent with lived experience supporting neurodivergent children, my perspective on everyday life and family rhythms informs how I work; with patience, empathy, and appreciation for what matters most day to day.

I’ve found that when children and families feel truly heard and understood, it supports their confidence and comfort as they work toward goals that matter to them.

Outside of work, I enjoy homeschooling my daughter, getting outdoors or to the beach with my family, and immersing myself in learning to grow my own herbs (and hopefully fruit and vegetables soon!).
